WILDE-
WOOD
neighborhood
Wildewood, a prestigious community northeast of downtown Columbia, is a large neighborhood with upscale homes and a golf and country club, all within an easy commute to the University of South Carolina, Main Street, and the Vista.
The first home in Wildewood was built in 1967, at a time when the area was considered far from the hustle and bustle of the capital city. Since then, with the widening of Two Notch Road and the opening of I-20 and I-77, Wildewood found itself in the middle of the booming Northeast Columbia region.
The Wildewood subdivision was conceived by long-time developers Heath Manning and Donnie Boyd, who developed the now 1,600-acre subdivision in several individual sections. Known for its high-end custom homes, immaculate landscaping, excellent schools, and active neighborhood associations, Wildewood is now home to more than 1,100 homes.
